imo’s new iPad app ranks in iTunes store's top five for free social networking apps!

One of imo’s goals is to allow our users to communicate and collaborate more easily—regardless of the type of platform they are using. This year, we have been working hard to expand our support to mobile areas. We received favorable responses for our iPhone and Android applications, and we would like to offer imo on additional mobile platforms.

In addition to mobile apps, we have released imo on the iPad. Currently, our app ranks in the iTunes store’s top five for free social networking ipad apps! The application is free and available for download.

While there are similarities between imo’s iPhone and iPad apps, you will notice some enhancements that are iPad specific. imo’s iPad application uses the full resolution of the iPad, so you can see more of your conversation at once. In addition, the iPad version allows you to see your buddy list and your conversation side by side; this means that your buddy list and accounts box are always visible (in any orientation).

Below are some tips and tricks to get you started:
switching between conversations: You can switch between conversations without dismissing the keyboard.

using the virtual keyboard: You can keep your keyboard up by hitting “return,” and you can dismiss the keyboard by hitting “send.” You can also dismiss the keyboard without hitting “send” by clicking on the key on the lower-right of the keyboard.

scrolling through the tab bar: When the number of tabs exceeds the width of the conversation window, the tab bar becomes scrollable horizontally. Simply drag the tab bar to access tabs that are not visible on the screen.

accessing a conversation from a message popup: If you receive a message from a conversation that is not in the current tab, a popover bubble will appear at the top of the window with a preview of the message. Tapping the bubble will bring you to the conversation.
slide-to-delete: To delete a buddy from your buddy list, simply slide horizontally on that buddy.

“online” versus “offline”: If you do not sign out of your accounts, you will still be "online" and receive push notifications when messages are sent to you. If you wish to be “offline,” sign out of your accounts.

If you own an iPad, please try our app and send us your feedback!
